Young Charger
Douglas Fairbanks of the Hartland Insurance Agency in Hartland is this year’s Young Charger Award recipient. Doug, who currently serves as MAIA YAC Board Rep., has led Michigan YACs to being recognized by IIABA as having the Best Young Agents program in the nation for the third year in a row. Doug is also a strong supporter of both InsurPac and AgentPAC, a participant in IIABA’s Legislative Conference, and was involved in YAC fundraisers Walk For Wishes and Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk this past year.
Dave Walker elected to the Executive Committee of IIABA
In April of 2010 David A Walker was elected to the Executive Committee of Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America. Mr. Walker will represent the over 22,000 Independent Insurance Agencies across the United States.
Pam Barkel Earns Second Certification
The designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) has been conferred upon Pam, following her successful completion of a rigorous insurance education program sponsored by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.
The announcement was made by Dr. William T. Hold, President of the Society of CIC, who conferred the designation on Mrs Barkel in an official ceremony conducted recently in Grand Rapids.
The Society of CIC is a key member of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, the nation’s preeminent provider of insurance and risk management education. The National Alliance conducts more than 2,000 programs annually, throughout all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean. Currently, more than 26,000 agents and insurance professionals throughout the country have received the CIC designation.
Pam has demonstrated her professional competence through the successful completion of the five CIC institutes and comprehensive written examinations focusing on all major fields of insurance, insurance management, and agency operations.
JoAnn Lauzon and Kristy Fairbanks Receive Certification
The designation of Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) has been conferred upon them, after their successful completion of five, one-day courses covering all areas of insurance risks and exposures, followed by extensive examinations.
The CISR Program, available to insurance professionals in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean, is distinguished from other programs of its kind by an annual continuing education requirement, which ensures that designees stay current on the important policy changes and trends within the industry.
JoAnn and Kristy is to be commended on their dedication to professionalism as evidenced by the completion of the CISR designation and their commitment to continuing education.
The CISR designation is awarded by the Society of CISR, a not-for-profit organization and member of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, the nation’s premier provider of insurance and risk management education. This year, the Society of CISR celebrates its 17th anniversary with approximately 62,800 participants in the Program and more than 19,000 individuals holding the CISR designation.
